I Got Married !!

I'm married! Can you believe it? I know! I can't too. Alas, I am now a wife. My marriage life has been wonderful so far. I can finally be with the love of my life and let's hope it lasts forever. We had our wedding on December 10th and it was the most magical day ever. Though I cannot describe how exhausted I was. My energy was zero and I was draining to the point I couldn't even smile to the camera. My heels were hurting so bad. My wedding shoes were 3 inches high. I knew all along that I'd suffer in it but on my wedding day, I'd choose to be pretty than be comfortable and I'm glad I did that cause boy did I not look pretty? I was stunning and that's because I was the highlight of the day. Come on guys, it was my moment, give your girl some room for a compliment, would you? 😂 Anyway, the wedding was not as perfect as I wished it to be but hey nothing is perfect and I'm willing to accept that. What I had was close to my dream wedding so I'm grateful in every way possible. My invitations were not as much. I was very selective. I only invited those who I thought were important since the goal of the wedding was intimacy and we achieved that. I got 300 people invited to the wedding and we received about 250. A decent amount I would say. We got some leftovers for the family and we did give some of the remaining for the workers too. I'm so glad the food doesn't go to waste. It costs us a fortune and it won't be nice to throw food away. Our wedding cake was indeed a statement. It was inspired by a picture  I found on Instagram. I wanted it to be exactly like the picture but it was too expensive and we couldn't afford to have our money spent on something less essential so we went for a different alternative. I designed the cake to be almost similar to the picture but with fewer details. We reduced the amount of flowers, they were all fresh btw and we asked to limit the use of golden paper on the cake. It worked. The cake was such a beauty. The flavor was amazing, it was so buttery and moist. It kind of melts in your mouth. We got a Lemony French Vanilla butter cake. I requested a lemon layer to cut the savory taste of the butter cake. It was the best decision ever. Alhamdulillah, our baker was so helpful with the request made and she surely did a good job. 

Our goodies were not that fancy. I did not aim for fancy goodies anyway since all my money was spent mostly on the venue and the dress. I got my guests a bag of cookies, I do wish they would like it because I really do. The packaging was so cute. Our theme was flowers and it was in red. All of our graphics have flowers and they were so cute. Our welcome board is beautiful. Made of pure wood with our names engraved on it. We got the date written as well. It was a masterpiece. I took it home with me. We placed the board in our new home. I'll tell you about that later. Anyway, my wedding dresses were the best thing I have ever worn in my entire life. Mostly because I wore them with pride and happiness. Fashion-wise, it was okay but since I wear them on my wedding day, it makes them look 100 times better and prettier. I'm glad to say that I designed my own Nikah dress. It took me about 3 months to come up with the final design. I was inspired by the dress made by Tujoh Kuntum. I went through a lot of drama before I could have my Nikah dress ready. It was very challenging. At first, I was going to buy the dress from Tujuh Kuntom but then they didn't have it in my size. First, they do then they don't. I don't understand how they manage their stocks. Completely disorganized. I was quite disappointed. It kind of love at first sight. I had fallen in love with the dress the moment I saw it. They gave me a call just to tell me they have the same design in my size. Guess what? I was so excited to see the dress but the color was different and the details were such a mess! I already paid a deposit but then I asked for a refund. Thank god, they allowed that. They should. I paid good money for it so I expect good quality coming out from it obviously. Since I was so in love with the dress, I didn't find other dresses pretty anymore. So, I decided to design my own Nikah dress. It looked almost the same but mine was more of a modern concept and definitely prettier 😆 We bought Italian Satin in Offwhite and have it sewed professionally by the tailors. It came out amazing and I love that my dress fit my body perfectly cause I was aiming for that. We then chose our reception outfits from the bridal shop. We went for traditional attire. I didn't want to wear used clothes so we picked brand-new materials, including the Songket and the lace. We went to Songket House in KL just to find the right match for my wedding day. It was a lot of effort but it was worth it. I had all measurements customized according to my body size. We went back and forth just to ensure everything was aligned and just like I wanted it to be. My husband was so annoyed but I really don't care haha. It was that day that put me to the realization, that I was very selective with what I wanted, very picky, and very choosy. Thank god, he could put up with my shit to this day. He has to. After months of trying and correcting, our attires were finally ready and it was everything I wanted in a dress. It was perfect. All the waiting and the hassles were paid off. I'm happy with how it turned out. Exactly what I would have imagined. 

My wedding venue was okay. We can have better. It was hot and I could see my guests dripping with sweat all over their faces. I was sweating too. My dress was so thick. The only place with AC was the living room but it could not fit all the guests. I would expect the dining hall equipped with AC but all I saw was two large fans. I couldn't feel anything from the fans. They were useless. There was air ventilation but I guess it was not enough. It was super hot. They definitely have to do something about it. It needs a serious improvement. Speaking about song arrangement, they had it all wrong during the bride's walk-out moment. I specifically asked for a different song but they presented me with something that was not even on my song list. We had a floor manager (FM) but can't put the blame on him since there was a shift of FM at the very last minute. We were told that our original FM was💓 called on sick and unable to perform his duty. What can we say? Just hoping everything goes as smoothly as planned. The new FM told us he didn't get the list but we found it outrageous. We have handed over every detail to the PIC and it is impossible that he didn't get all the information. I was mad but I gave him the benefit of the doubt and decided to move on with the itinerary. We continued the rest of the day full of happiness and lovely moments. I took pictures with everyone. My jaw hurt so much from all the smiles. Like I said, I was draining and I am no good with facial emotion. When I'm tired, people WILL see it. I can't help it. Been practicing but it won't work. The photoshoot went great. We had our wedding video shoot at different places. So do our wedding pictures. We had two different photographers taking our photos. One was from the package, another was the one we hired. They were good at what they do but they surely value exclusivity within their business. My guests were not allowed to take pictures with me and my hubby through their personal phones. They won't be able to help to take a picture unless it's coming from their lenses. Some sort of protocol things, I'm not sure. I don't appreciate that much but it's their protocol and I have to be respectful. I got so many complaints from my friends and family but it is what it is. Anyway, my wedding photos and videos came out great. I love every bit of it. I'll get my photo book in March 2024. Super excited to see it. 

I got my best friend as the maid of honor. She was the closest I've been to a person. She knew everything about me and most importantly she was always there for me. It's only right that she becomes the one who stays by my side on my wedding day. I have my family with me and her too. It was perfect. Overall, my wedding day was such a fairytale. The best part is I get to live in it with the person I love the most, supported by my family and friends. What a wonderful story to live in. Alhamdulillah for this opportunity to become a wife, a daughter, and a friend to everyone I love. God knows how important they are and how essential their presence is in my life.
