An upgrade to my educational journey!

Hi there! I hope everyone is doing well. I know it has been a while since my last update and it got deleted for a few reasons. So far, my life has been a joy, and now I have some exciting news to share. My educational journey just got upgraded! Currently, I'm studying for my Master's degree at one of the local universities. I just finished my first semester and managed to get a fairly decent pointer, not bad for a beginner like myself. Whatever the number is, I was proud of myself.

My story today isn't really about how it feels to pursue a Master's degree but rather about what I considered before I started school again. I work as a full-time corporate finance executive for one of the largest pharmaceutical-based companies in Malaysia. Since I am a part-time student, I will have my classes on weekends. Hence, I barely have any time for anything fun. I rarely get a chance to spend quality time with my family, much less with my friends. I knew getting back to school would change my entire life. It takes about 4 hours for a single class and I have 8 hours of classes every weekend. That doesn't include the time I spent completing my assessment. Balancing time between school and work is exhausting.

Sleep has been a complete disaster for me. Having to stay up until 4 or 5 in the morning prevents me from getting enough sleep. My sleep usually lasts for three hours or less and before I know it, I'm waking up and getting ready for work. I usually take a 10-minute power nap at the office when I feel too tired. That's the longest I can do. The work I do requires me to prepare paperwork, present ideas, and consolidate reports. To accomplish my tasks, I need to be attentive and present at my workstation at all times. Sometimes I had to put my work aside to complete my assignments. Regardless of how inexplicable it may sound, it is the most efficient way I can think of. I am now learning how to prioritize things better.

Despite how hectic my schedule is, pursuing a Master's degree has always been my dream. Now that I am already into it, I intend to make the most of it. I am not feeling regret for making this choice, though I cannot deny how much it has changed my life. If this is the price I have to pay to lead a successful life the way I want to, so be it. I am more than willing and always up for challenges. I believe being knowledgeable is a goal to be achieved by everyone. Without knowledge, we are vulnerable. Get yourself exposed to thousands or even millions of things. Go grab that book, do some reading and write down your thoughts. Find your focus point and be focused. With knowledge, you will be respected and acknowledged. Just like the saying goes, "an investment in knowledge pays the best interest". I aim to be knowledgeable about everything, from the simplest to the most complex things this world has to offer. I know I can do it because I am determined, content, and powerful.
